The Crown Lodge Hotel – Blog 1: Comfort is Key | Jo Watson
Whether you’re rocking up to a hotel in Cambridgeshire or The Caribbean, what do you expect as standard when you walk in through the door to your room?
Cleanliness?
Classiness?
Complimentary drinks and snacks awaiting your arrival, as you throw your bag on the bed and glance longingly over at the minibar and tray of refreshments?
Put all of those things together (and indeed any of your expectations of a truly good hotel stay), and we think you’ll agree that whether it’s décor or detail, everything really comes down to comfort as soon as that door opens.
We’ve been in the hotel game a good while, and so here are our thoughts on why comfort should be the key to your hotel room when you travel in 2025 (and why if that travel should bring you to Cambridgeshire, that hotel room should be in The Crown Lodge Hotel here in Outwell).
1. A comfortable hotel means you feel safe.
You’re in a new place ready for new plans, so whilst you’re going through the motions (and emotions) of getting yourself set for whatever lies ahead on your trip, it can be a real weight off those tensed-up shoulders to know that whatever happens, you don’t need to worry about if you locked the front door, or if the cat’s going to bring it’s friends in for a party at 4am. Comfort isn’t just material, it’s a state of mind, so whilst you’re kicking back on one of our comfy beds with a cuppa and one of our famous chocolate brownies, know that just down the beautifully decorated hallway, our team at The Crown Lodge Hotel are here for you 24 hours to keep you safe, secure, and sleeping like a baby.
2. A comfortable hotel means you feel cared for.
At The Crown Lodge Hotel, whilst we’re confident that you’ll have everything to hand in your room should you need it (and in perfect condition too, as standard), we also know that should you need anything else at all, our team will always be right there for you. Need information about our hotel services or the local area? Call up our friendly reception desk. Need a strong drink? Head to our chilled-out bar for a cold beer or a glass of wine after a long day. Need to be left in complete silence and solitude because you may not get a night away again for another three years? Get that sign hung up on your door, and we’ll make sure you’re definitely not disturbed.
3. A comfortable hotel means you’ll sleep well.
Look, we know that irritating as the blonde pre-teen criminal was, Goldilocks had a point when it came to pillows. Sometimes a bed really is too hard or too soft. Mattress comfort is subjective, and depending how strongly you feel about the matter, it could potentially be bigger than Brexit when it comes to a good old British debate. But if it’s important to you, it’s important to us at The Crown Lodge, so our mattresses are only ever the best you can buy to offer our guests that elusive ‘night away from home’ comfort, that - let’s be honest - we all crave at least once in while.
4. A comfortable hotel means you’ll maximise your trip.
A good rest, the lack of a need to tidy up, and knowing that everything you want is catered for either in your room or by our team, means that you’ll rest better, enjoy more, and concentrate clearly on what it is you’re doing with the rest of your time away. Being able to wake up refreshed, put the kettle on, grab a hot shower, and gather up your things without the distractions of having to run around your house to do it all… just means you can focus on the real purpose of your stay. Of course, if the reason for your trip really was just to get a night in a great hotel and you have no other plans beyond that… mission accomplished! At The Crown Lodge Hotel, we’re not just a base – we’re a reason to come away all of our own.
5. A comfortable hotel means you’ll want to come back.
Whilst you’d think that this reason is better for us as we get to keep your lovely loyal custom, it’s also good for you, because the next time you’re planning to stay in the Cambridgeshire area, you won’t have to spend hours scouring through Booking.Com (other websites are available) trying to find the perfect base for your business trip or a hotspot hideaway for your holiday. As we all know, nothing kills the relaxation of a staycation quite like the stress of having to find somewhere to stay in the first place…
Put all of this together, and a comfortable hotel means you can go right ahead and do that one thing that hotels are designed to help you to do. Relax, and enjoy your stay.
